About Gerrid Kendrix
State Representative Gerrid Kendrix is a conservative Republican, who was elected in 2020 to the Oklahoma House of Representatives to represent District 52, which includes the geographic regions of Greer, Harmon, Jackson, and Kiowa counties.
Gerrid Kendrix is a third generation resident of Altus, Oklahoma. His grandfather, Lee Kendrix, had brought the family to Altus in the early half of the 1900’s to work for a cotton farmer. His father, Harvey Kendrix, was born in Altus, and worked for Southwestern Bell before he left to serve in the Army during the Vietnam War. When he returned from the war, Harvey relocated the family back to his hometown of Altus.
Gerrid graduated from Altus High School in 1985, and then graduated in 1991 from Cameron University. He returned to Altus to begin his accounting career, earning his CPA and continuing to serve Altus and the surrounding community for over 30 years.
With the Constitution as his guide in protecting life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Gerrid Kendrix has devoted priorities throughout his life to serving on the Board of Trustees of Baptist Children's Homes and crisis pregnancy center assistance, Operation Care to help those in a budget crisis meet bills and climb out of debt. He also serves as a deacon in his church where he has assisted on the finance committee, mentored teens, ministries for elderly and widows, and facilitated Bible study groups. Gerrid believes firmly that each life has value, purpose, and dignity, and the rights afforded by our Creator and Constitution should be protected and promoted.
Gerrid married his high school sweetheart Cynthia in 1987 and, now that their three children are grown, they are also enjoying their six grandchildren, who are the fifth generation of the Kendrix family living in the Altus area.
